The provisions of the law and of declarations of co-ownership are relatively brief and remain rather vague regarding the functioning and procedure of meetings of co-owners. Yet, this is a subject that draws the attention of all syndicates and of lawyers practicing in co-ownership law.

This 4th edition of the Guide to Procedure and Functioning of Co-Owners’ Meetings has been prepared by taking into account the new applicable legislative provisions, recent case law, and practices observed in co-owners’ meetings.

The Guide presents, in a highly accessible manner, to syndicate directors, co-owners, lawyers, and property managers, a legal framework for the preparation and holding of co-owners’ meetings, whether in person, remotely, or in hybrid format. The first part includes a detailed text covering all subjects surrounding the co-owners’ meeting. Consultation of the text is facilitated by the division of each chapter into several sections dealing with specific points. It is therefore a significant doctrinal work in law, while remaining accessible to the general public. The Guide is also intended to be very practical, containing, after the doctrinal section, two additional parts: a model set of meeting procedure rules and templates for co-owners’ meeting documentation.
