Ghislain Raymond, lawyer

Ghislain Raymond is a member of Deveau Avocats' Civil and Commercial Litigation Group. Over the past 12 years, he has developed a specialty in real estate law, with a focus on divided and undivided co-ownership. He advises and represents real estate brokers, individuals, condominium corporations and real estate developers.

Mr. Raymond advised a commercial co-owner on the legal set-up of the Ilot Wilder on the Place des Festivals in Montreal. He has also participated in the development of certain complex co-ownerships, including co-ownership by shares, a field in which he has written on the web.

He appears before the civil courts of first instance and appeal in virtually every judicial district of Quebec.

Mr. Raymond is a certified mediator and arbitrator in civil and commercial matters, as well as in co-ownership. He has given more than 30 lectures on a variety of co-ownership topics, from plugging in electric cars to the payment of common expenses, and is a contributor to the Yvon Blais real estate law blog.

For several years, he taught priorities and mortgages at the École de formation professionnelle du Barreau du Québec (Centre de Montréal).

He also sits on the board of directors of the Outaouais chapter of the Regroupement des Gestionnaires et Copropriétaires du Québec.
